Paper Weight Metric Conversion

In North America, a paper's basis weight is measured in pounds (lbs). Paper mills outside of North America use the metric system to designate paper weight - grams/square meter (gsm). Below is a list of conversions for EcoEnclose packaging papers from gsm to lb weight. 

30# Paper (Newsprint or Kraft) = 44.4 gsm 

40# Paper (Kraft) = 59.2 gsm

50# Paper (Bogus) = 74 gsm

60# Paper (Kraft, Indented) = 88.8 gsm
